In memory of our daughter, sister, and FSCH alumni: Patty Lou Tate, 55, died Friday, June 15, 2007. Patty was born December 29, 1951 in Sandwich, Illinois. She was the daughter of Omar "Leo" Tate, Sr. and Betty Elizabeth Tanner Tate. Patty attended Fort Scott Christian Heights and graduated in 1969. While attending FSCH, Patty was active in choir, band, drama, and field day events. She, along with two of her sisters, helped bring home field day trophies for FSCH.
She later married Ernest Carl Jacobson. They had one daughter, Luisa Marie.
In her mid twenties, Patty became ill and suffered strokes causing uncontrollable seizures, right-sided paralyzes, and right-sided blindness. She required constant supervision, which resulted in her divorce. She lived with her folks for several years, and she was preceded in death by her dad, Leo. Due to health reasons of her mother, Patty was placed in Nevada Christian HealthCare in Nevada, Missouri, where she lived until her unexpected death.
Survivors include: her mother, Betty Tate of Climax Springs, Missouri; one daughter, Luisa Dilly and husband, Jim and granddaughter, Madison Dilly of Nevada; three brothers: Robert Tate of Palmer, Alaska; Omar Tate, Jr. of Climax Springs, Missouri; and Ian Tate of Galena, Kansas; four sisters, Elaine Craghead of Centralia, Missouri; Bessie Williams of Nevada, Missouri; and Wanita Tate and Rebecca Jaynes both of Fort Scott, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty did learn to write and draw with her left hand. She enjoyed her drawings, her art work and singing.
Patty, along with her 3 brothers and 4 sisters, attended FSCH. Patty, her mother, and five of her siblings attended the recent FSCH Celebration of Music. According to the nursing home staff, Patty really enjoyed the celebration and visiting with her fellow classmates.
We love and miss you, Patty. Till we meet again.
