Fort Scott Christian Heights - Established 1947

Fort Scott Christian Heights has been providing Christian education for over fifty years. Located in the heart of Fort Scott, Kansas, we are committed to our heritage of quality education and strong biblical values.

The inspiration for a Christian school in Fort Scott began in 1947 with Reverend W. L. Gates, Pastor of the Church of God (Holiness). After much prayer and planning by Rev. Gates, Mrs. Beulah Gruver and others, F.S.C.H. began instruction in the basement of the church in September, 1947, but moved into a block type building by the end of the school year on the property off 12th Street. Enrollment continued to increase every year, and in 1962 the current 11,000 square foot facility was built.

Today, Christian education continues at F.S.C.H. under the direction of Principal Terry Chance with the purpose of training children intellectually, physically and spiritually. This tradition is carried on through the input of concerned pastors, parents, patrons, administrators and teachers.

The reliability and inspiration of the Bible; the doctrine of the Trinity; the deity of Christ; the value and dignity of man and his sinfulness; the offer of forgiveness of sins and assurance of eternal life as a free gift from God, obtained through faith in Christ; the power of the Holy Spirit to purify the Christian and enable him to live a victorious, holy life; the reality of eternal joy, or eternal punishment after death; and the second coming of Christ
